Standard Poodle

Luna_edited.jpg

I know what you're thinking.
"Poodles are those poofy dogs with the weird haircuts"

In the past I may have agreed with you, until I did my research. Standard poodles were originally bred for hunting! In fact they are one of the oldest pure bred dogs.

While primarily considered a water-retriever, the poodle was and still is used as guide dogs, guard dogs, military dogs, circus dogs, and wagon pullers

Poodles are INCREDIBLY smart and such sweethearts.

It's one of many great things about them.  Along with the desire to please their masters, and their non-shedding, hypoallergenic coat, the poodle is an all around wonderful pet.

The personality of the poodle varies from dog to dog, but I've never met a poodle who wasn't either hilarious or the sweetest dog you've ever met.

Their energy level is pretty average. They love to play, but are always ready to snuggle and relax with you in the house.  We've found our poodles to be couch potatoes and great walking companions all in one!

As with any dog, proper training and socialization is key to a well behaved pup. If you give your best, so will they.

I can say with certainty that if you're looking for a dog that is silly, fun and dedicated to it's family, the standard poodle will check all your boxes.
